REDEMPTION: 1 Corinthians 1:30-11; Romans 3:22-25; Ephesians 2:4-13
The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is the foundation on which the "walls" must be established because He is mankind's only hope for eternal redemption. (Scriptures to study: 1 Corinthians 3:6-11; 1 Peter 2:1-10; Acts 4:10-12; John 14:6)
THE ANOINTING: 1 John 2:20-27; 1 John 5:1-9; Romans 8:9
The Anointing, or the witness of the Holy Spirit, is the first building block of the "walls of salvation". Before one can be one "know" for sure that they have a relationship with The Living God, The Anointing must bear witness with their own spirit that the transaction is accomplished. Without the "Anointing" one cannot and will not be able to receive spiritual gifts or be able to walk in the fruit of the Spirit of Almighty God. (Scriptures to study: Romans chapters 6-8; 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14; and Galatians chapter 3:1-3)2.
DELIVERANCE: John 1:12 and Ephesians 1:18-21
Webster's dictionary defines deliverance as the "act" of being set free or released from bondage; being brought into liberty; to be set free or saved from evil. The Bible defines deliverance as "release from the kingdom of darkness". In the life of a believer, such deliverance is a sign that one has received salvation and that the building of their personal "wall of salvation" has begun. It is important to note that deliverance is both immediate and also an on-going process that will continue to take place throughout a believer's lifetime. (Scriptures to study: John 3:15-21; Colossians 1:12-14; and Galatians chapter 5)
NEWNESS OF LIFE: John 5:24 and Romans 6:1-14
"Newness of life" begins to reveal itself once a new Christian accepts the reality that the only way they can live the Christian life successfully is by total dependence on the Lord. (Scriptures to study: Romans 12:1-3; Ephesians 4:17-5:1; John 3:1-8; and Proverbs 3:5-6) Unfortunately, for some the revelation of this truth takes years to "sink in". However, until it does so and is accepted as being the will of God, a person's walls can never be secured. (Scriptures to consider concerning this truth are: Philippians 2:12-13; Galatians chapters 2 and 5)
GRACE: John 14:25; John 15:6; John 17:7-15
Grace has many different meanings including God's unmerited and undeserved favor ... expressed to each of us by the Holy Spirit. When sin first entered into the world, mankind lost the ability to please God. Therefore, God gave us a Helper, who is The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit assists, relieves, strengthens, and shares in our the labors. He also directs our steps and gives us comfort. Consequently, the foundational jewel of grace, firmly seated in the "Wall of Salvation" is one of God's most precious gifts. (Scriptures to study: Titus 2:11-14 and Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:36-39)
VICTORY OVER THE FLESH: 1 Corinthians 15:57; 2 Corinthians 2:14; 1 Timothy 6:11-12
Webster's Dictionary defines victory as being "the final and complete supremacy or superiority in battle; success in any contest or struggle which involves the defeat of an opponent or the overcoming of an obstacle; conquest; and triumph." Such freedom over our sinful carnal natures; which Scripture refers to as "the flesh", can only come forth through a strong and abiding relationship with the Lord. Such a relationship is one result of the wall of salvation being firmly established in a believer's life. (Scriptures to study: Romans chapters 6-8; Colossians 2:6-15; 1 Corinthians 2:9-16; John 15:1-8)
A RENEWED MIND: Romans 12:1-3; Romans chapters 6-8; Philippians 2:1-15
The need for a believer to develop the mind of Christ is two fold. A renewed mind enables a person to discern God's will and purposes for our lives. A renewed mind also exempts and/or liberates a person from having to live under the control of something or someone else. Those whose minds are being renewed, by the Word of God, are "free" to become "ambassadors for the Lord" without hindrances and restraints. In essence, a renewed mind enables a person to experience the freedom that can only be found through one's obedience to the will and purposes of God. (Scriptures to study: 1 Corinthians 2:1-16; Isaiah 61; Galatians 5; 2 Corinthians chapter 4 and 5, and Romans 12:1-3)
PROVISION: Philippians 4:11-19; John 10:10; and 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12
The promise of provision as being a building block of "the wall of salvation" reveals that God is concerned about each one of His children's well-being and welfare. Welfare, as defined by Webster's Dictionary means: "the state of being or doing well. It is a condition of health, happiness, well-being and prosperity."Provision is rooted in the truth that God has the ability to provide and supply for all of our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Meeting these needs is His expression of love. It is as God provides for one person's needs that they become able might to share with others. In this manner. This is the will of God. Through this avenue, He becomes able to reveal His love to the world. (Scriptures to study: 2 Corinthians 1:3-5; Ephesians 4:26; Hebrews 13:1-3; Matthew 25:31-46, and Philippians 4:19)
PROSPERITY: 3 John 3; Psalms 1:1-3; Jeremiah 17:7-8
Prosperity, as defined by Webster's Dictionary means "to have a good fortune, wealth, and success; to succeed and/or to flourish." The Bible teaches us that God gives "good gifts" to His children. The true blessings of prosperity can only be revealed as we share what we have with others. (Scriptures to study: James 1:16-18; Galatians 6:5-10; 1 Thessalonians 5:23, with John 10:10)
PURPOSE: Revelation chapters 4:11; 5:9-10; and Titus 2:11-14
Purpose, according to Webster's Dictionary, means: "resolution, determination, the object for which something exists."The main purpose for which mankind was created is to glorify God. As we glorify Him, His predetermined will and plan for our individual lives can begin to manifest, thereby enabling us to live lives of purpose. (Scriptures to study: Isaiah 43:7; Ephesians 2:8-10)
PEACE AND ORDER: Psalms 50:23; Psalms 119:33; 1 Corinthians 14:33; John 16:33
Until a person is restored to The Lord, by receiving His gift of salvation, their lives are filled with disorder and conflicts. True peace and order are truly only possible as one receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior into their hearts and lives. (Scriptures to study: John 14:6; John 16:33; and Ephesians 2:8-22; and Acts chapter 13)
RELEASE FROM THE POWERS OF DARKNESS: Galatians 1:3-5; Colossians 1:9-20; 1 Peter 5:6-8 and
1 John 4:7-19
The promise of being RELEASED from all that hinders or makes a person afraid is an awesome gift. Webster's Dictionary defines the word "release": "to be set at liberty; to unfasten, to let go; to be set free from pain, cares, etc.; to be relieved.
In order to ensure that a person can and will be set free from all that hinders or makes us afraid, the Lord has given us His promise and His Spirit to ensure that we will be able to become the people that we were created to be Scriptures to study 2nd Peter chapter 1 and John 14-16)
AUTHORITY: Luke 10:10-18; Matthew 28:18 and Ephesians 6:10-20
As believers, we are able to walk in The Lord's authority, by the power of His Spirit - which is the "cap-stone" of the 12 principles that define Christianity. Because of the authority that Jesus Christ gave to His followers, a believer is able to overcome all adversity. As a result of being able to over their own struggles, a believer is able to accomplish God's will for their being - which is to share His love with others. (Scriptures to study: Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 and Galatians 2:20-3:5)
As seen in this study, Biblical Salvation is much more than being delivered from eternal damnation and torment. Biblical Salvation includes the "tools" that make up the "Wall of Salvation".These tools enable a believer to live victoriously. As they appropriate "the jewels" of Salvation, those who allow God to work in their lives are granted "power over all the evil works of darkness" both in this life and in the life to come. (Refer to Romans 13:11-15, Philippians 4:13 and Philippians 1:27-30)
"Therefore, fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses" 1 Timothy 6:12
"For The Lord is the light of our salvation. Whom shall we fear? The Lord is the strength of our lives; of
whom shall we be afraid? When the wicked come against us, to eat of our flesh, our enemies and our foes,
they will stumble and fall. Though an army should encamp against us, do not fear; though war should rise against us, in this we can be confident." "For no weapon formed against us shall prosper; and every tongue
that rises up against us in judgment, we shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord." Psalms 27:1-3 and Isaiah 54:17
